The most important element that is fundamental to the scientific approach is the data that is the empirical result of observation and theory which is the organization concept that allows the prediction of the data. Both of them are used in the development of science and they are associated complexly.
Deductive inductive reasoning
Deductive reasoning is an approach process that is from the general truth about a phenomena (theory) and generalize the truth to an event or a specific data that characterized as same as the relevant phenomenon (prediction). In other words, deduction means concluding the relationship that is not apparent, based on the existing generalization.
Inductive reasoning is a logical process that is from empirical data through observation to a theory. In other words, induction is the process of organizing facts or observations that are separated into a series of relationships or a generalization.
