There are 3 kinds of states of matter:
a. Solid
It is an object that is solid, strong, tight and stiff, difficult to change of shape and volume. For examples are rock, wood and others.
b. Liquid
Definition of liquid is an object that is liquid, which has flowing nature, wet, no fixed shape or adjusting the place they occupy and fixed volume. Examples of liquid are water, gasoline and others.
c. Gas
Gas is an object that shaped gas and can also be liquid and solid form, which has the nature of filling space, flowing and change shape but different from liquid. Examples of gas are air we breathe, smoke of burning and others.
Changes in state of matter are:
a. Solid into Liquid
Change from solid to liquid is called melt. An example is the melting ice into water.
b. Liquid into Solid
Change from liquid to solid is called solidify. An example is water frozen into ice cubes.
c. Liquid into gas
Change from liquid into gas is called vaporize. An example is rubbing alcohol which is depleted due to evaporation.
d. Gas into liquid
Change in the form of gas into liquid is called condense. An example is fog that becomes the morning dew.
e. Gas into solid
Change from gas into solid is called deposition. An example is the result of burning oil lamp into soot.
f. Solid into gas
Change in the form of solid into gas is called sublime. An example is car freshener that is solid and fragrant which over time will run out due to evaporation.
