There are several measures of treatment of brain tumors:
1. Brain Tumor Surgery
The goal of surgery is to remove a cancerous tumor as possible brain cancer / tumor as much as possible and minimize the chance of loss of brain function. Surgery to open the skull is called a craniotomy.

Before surgery begins a brain tumor, head hair shaved. The surgeon then makes an incision in the scalp using a special kind of chain saw to remove a piece of bone from the skull. After removing part or all of the tumor, the surgeon closes the opening with a piece of bone was, a piece of metal, or other material. The surgeon then closes the incision in the scalp. Some surgeons may use a channel that is placed under the scalp for one or two days after surgery to minimize the accumulation of blood or fluid.
2. Radiosurgery Stereotactic
Stereotactic Radiosurgery is a technique destroys brain cancer without opening the skull. CT - scan or MRI is used to determine the exact location of the tumor in the brain. High levels of radiation energy is directed to the tumor from different angles to destroy the tumor. The mechanism was varied, ranging from the use of gamma knife or linear accelerators with a photon, or a proton beam.
These procedures reduce the possibility of complications in patients and shorten recovery time. The drawback is there is no tumor tissue samples that can be further investigated by a pathologist, as well as brain swelling that can occur after radiotherapy.
When it counted malignant brain tumors, surgery followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy process.
